Pants to Data Centre Costs
Wednesday, January 07, 2009
Online lingerie firm figleaves.com has selected Intercept to provide Citrix NetScaler for load balancing and secure accelerated web application delivery to its site.

On undergoing a refresh of its datacentre, figleaves.com purchased four NetScaler Platinum appliances from Citrix partner Intercept IT to ensure its customers will receive the best possible experience from the site. One pair has been placed in the company's new datacentre, with the other in the legacy datacentre, which now runs as a data recovery site.

"The NetScaler Platinum boxes reduce datacentre costs, balance out peaks in site demand and accelerate application performance by up to five times." said Kristofer Spikereit, account manager at Intercept IT.

The system also provides end-to-end visibility of application performance, a full SSL VPN and advanced application security for the company.

"It was the scalability element of NetScaler Platinum that particularly attracted us to the product." said Peter Pedersen, CTO at figleaves.com. "Overall, the solution provides us with flexibility, scalability and a variety of advanced features to grow our business in line with our plans."
