EEA Subscribe to "Green" Managed Services
Monday, December 03, 2007
Intercept (formerly ADS Portal) , a privately held subscription based managed service provider, today announced that EEA Fund Management (EEAFM) is benefiting from significant cost and carbon foot print reductions by subscribing to its OnlineDesktop solution.

The OnlineDesktop service is a complete, secure computing environment that delivers customers’ software applications and business data from anywhere and over any connection, including the Internet, making it one of the most powerful and flexible IT solutions available today. By consolidating multiple customers’ IT requirements into one primary data centre, it provides not only economies of scale but, as importantly, significantly reduces their carbon footprint.

“As EEAFM advises on carbon asset investments, we are acutely aware of the impact of carbon emissions on the environment,” said Hiren Patel, Chief Financial Officer at EEAFM. “Intercept's (formerly ADS Portal) OnlineDesktop solution provides us with an enterprise-class IT environment that not only significantly reduces our carbon foot print but also reduces our costs. I estimate that I will save over £350,000 in 3 years by subscribing to OnlineDesktop.”

With the stringent disaster recovery measures in place with a DR site in Milton Keynes, Intercept (formerly ADS Portal) provides assurance and peace of mind to EEAFM that their IT provision is “always on” with access from anywhere at anytime on almost any device. EEAFM have recently expanded their offices into areas such as Beijing, Rio de Janerio and Cayman Islands, and these offices now have the same functionality as the head office in London, one of the many benefits of OnlineDesktop access.

Gary Collins, Technical Director, Intercept (formerly ADS Portal) commented, “Our OnlineDesktop solution provides our clients with many business benefits and significant cost reductions. However, with so many organisations focusing on the environmental impact of their “carbon foot print”, the ability to consolidate their IT resources and reduce their power and cooling requirements through our Managed Services, provides clear benefits including a carbon foot print reduction.
