Flood threat enables OnlineDesktop™ customer to envoke DR plan
Thursday, July 26, 2007
One of Intercept (formerly ADS Portal) OnlineDesktop customers has chosen to close their Head Office today due to problems caused by flooding in the surrounding area. They are based close to Oxford, and although the office is not in immediate danger of being flooded, access to the town that they are located in is already restricted, and it’s raining hard. They have decided to evacuate everyone now, rather than run the risk of staff being trapped in the office unable to get home.

Even though their offices will be shut, it does not mean that the business has had to stop for the day. Being a subscriber to OnlineDesktop when their staff get home they can log on to OnlineDesktop using their Internet connected home PC and continue working with exactly the same applications and data as if they were in the office. There is no loss of application functionality when OnlineDesktop is accessed from home, so their business can continue unhindered.

If you would like to protect your business, and be in a position where your staff can carry on working, even if you have to close your offices due to natural disaster, transportation strikes or terrorist threat, you should consider how easy and cost effective it is to achieve through the use of OnlineDesktop or OnlineOffice.
