Nigel Woods from Intercept shortlisted for Service and Support Professional of the Year

Intercept, the London based virtualisation and cloud computing specialists announced today that Nigel Woods, Technical Director, as a finalist in the UK IT Industry Awards 2009. Nigel has been nominated in the Individual Excellence Awards presented to IT professionals for demonstrating exceptional ability in their field in the category of IT Service and Support Professional of the Year.
 
Richard Gilder, Chief Executive at Intercept believes this is due recognition for Nigel consistently achieving outstanding service for clients in both the public and private sectors and being an inspiration to the team around him.

The UK IT Industry Awards see a new venture between BCS and Computing, merging the BCS IT Industry Awards and the Computing Awards for Excellence to create one platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice.

Our awards are central to our drive to create the IT profession and the finalists can be proud of their achievements.”
 
Earlier this year Nigel was honoured by the British Computer Society by being invited to become a Fellow of the Society (FBCS). Fellowship is by invitation only for those holding a senior position with an established reputation of eminence or authority in the field of IT.
 
Nigel added: “It is a great honour to gain industry recognition for the success that Intercept has won in the past year. We are becoming a trusted partner to many new organisations looking to simplify and gain control of their IT architecture and experience the benefits of next generation IT using virtualisation and cloud computing.”
 
Nigel will present a seminar on ‘Taming the Core Application Management For Knight Frank’s 1,600 Distributed Workforce’ at the IP Expo event on 7 October, at which Intercept is a Gold Sponsor. The UK IT Industry Awards will be held at the Battersea Park Events Arena on 12 November 2009.
